Who I Hire to Model

Here is what I look for in a model:

Female
Attractive: You need to be able to turn heads
Height minimum 5'3" taller is better
Age: 18-26; you'll be asked for ID at the time of the shoot
No large tattoos or stretch marks
Small tattoos visible from the front will be covered with makeup
All piercings removable
Buxom: need enough bust to have cleavage
No implants or other cosmetic surgery
Proud of your looks, and open minded about thinking of your body as art
Nudity: Comfortable with nudity similar to Playboy
Local: Shoots take place in Charleston SC - no travel costs paid

Compensation to Models

All models will be paid the day of the shoot. You also get a CD with copies of the photos for your personal use. I also can give you a free premium account on my modeling portfolio site if you want. Occasionally I allow models to keep wardrobe items.

TFP: For 95% of my shoots, I hire the model. However on occasion I will work TFP (time for photos, you get copies of photos but no pay) if I think it will be an interesting shoot. If you don't fit everything above and are still just dying to model for me, I'll listen to your case.

My Work Celebrates the Female Form

I hire and photograph models to create unconventional images. Experience (in modeling, dance, yoga, or acting) is helpful but not required. I've photographed over 500 models in the last 20 years.

My photography involves nudity similar to Playboy- if you are not open to that please don't contact me about modeling work. Each shoot warms up with clothed shots... If you want to model for me please get in touch.

Booking Shoots

To help me select you, send two unretouched photos: One face shot, one body. I need to know if you have any tattoos, piercings, scars, blemishes, tan lines, or if you have changed your hair or anything else that would cause you not to look like your application photos. I will eventually need your phone number to confirm the shoot.

What the Photos Are Used for

I work with several microstock agencies who market my photos for publication. I also try to get the photos published in print and online magazines, forums, etc. This is a sideline for me and not all of my images get published, but models are paid up front regardless. The main benefit of marketing my work through microstock is the professional feedback I get and seeing which images sell the best. I occasionally exhibit. I'm also the author a series of books teaching nude photography.

I don't offer private photos; if you want photos just for your boyfriend, look elsewhere. I believe in sharing the beauty. I work with models who want to be seen.

About Me

I shoot with a professional DSLR and studio lighting. The furnishings of my home studio may not be impressive, but only what the lens can see matters to me! I have traveled to dozens of countries, the cultures of which influence my work. I've earned a living as a photographer, but now it's solely a creative outlet. I'm professionally trained, have a 4-year art degree, 20 years' model photography experience, and a Master's degree in a "pay the bills" subject.
